"Happy Birthday" Banner!

Hello again! Im on a roll this week!! 2 blog posts down! woo hoo!
lol

Last night I did a last minute project for a colleague at work. She had her 40th birthday 2 days ago (which i MISSED! gosh, I'm such a horrible friend!!)

Anyhow, I was up until 1am trying to put this together. I wanted to do something other than my traditional card. So this is what I came up with!! Let me know what you think!? Also, her favorite colors are pink and brown. So I used those colors as my starting point!
I hung it in her office, so she would see it when she got in :)

The owl is cut at 5 inches from the Create a Critter Cartridge (my all time favorite!)

The flower shapes are from accent essentials at 4 1/2 inches and 4 inches for the smaller layer.

The letters are from the Cricut Cartridge Robots. (I can't remember what the size was!)

I used brown sheer ribbon to piece all the pieces together (I punched the holes with my crop a dile)

The rose is from the cricut flower shoppe cartridge (Another new favorite!). The butterfly is a recollections butterfly from Michaels :)

This is the first banner I have ever done and it was SOOOOOO much fun to see it come together! this is the first project that came out exactly how I pictured it in my head! lol I feel accomplished! :)

Happy Mother's Day!!

Wow, what a month, so far. I have been so busy it's been crazy. Before I started the blog, I had entirely too much time on my hands....now that I have a blog that I desperately want to keep up with, I can't seem to find the time! How the heck did that happen?!

Anyhow, to all the beautiful ladies out there; HAPPY MOTHER's Day!!

Today is bittersweet for me, because this is the first Mother's Day that I am without my wonderful mother. I'm trying to keep a smile on my face, nonetheless though!

Well, here are 2 mother's day projects that I have been working on this past week

I completed a mini album and Mother's Day card to give to my boyfriend's mom. Her favorite color is yellow, so I was sure to put a lot of yellow in there! LOL

She loves all things handmade and I figured this would be perfect.

You can view a video of the mini album below! :)

It's A Girl! :)

My big sister, who lives in Michigan, found out last week that she is having a little girl to add to her growing family! I'm super excited! I made a card to mail to her, since I am unable to physically be there! :(

I used multiple cartridges for this card; Baby Steps, Wrap it Up, Plantin School Book
Peachy Keen Stamps, Stickles, Rinestones, Twine, and Eyelets!

This card was a lot of fun to make, mostly because making girly cards are so easy! The possiblilities are endless! The baby boy card that I did last week was mentally taxing, because anything I wanted to do to it would make it too sparkly or girly looking! I definitely have A LOT more fun with girlie cards!!

Im planning on making a "baby's first year" album as soon as she decides on a name :) The baby is due in August, so I think I have plenty of time!!
Hope you all have a fantastic rest of the weekend!!!

A Few New Creations :)

I have been MIA for a little while, only because I have been super busy! I recently started taking Krav Maga and kickboxing classes during the week....so much fun!! :)

I have gotten a few little cards done, for birthdays and whatnot. I also got a super cute picture of my puppy (okay, so she's not a puppy anymore, but I like to tell myself that she is!) lol she is 4 and a half! :)
I love my "Reilly Bug" more than anything...she doesn't even know she is a dog :) lol

On to the cards! :)
I made this card for my friend's birthday. She loves butterflies :) It is from the rock princess cricut cartridge :)

I made this card for someone to give at a baby shower for a little boy :) This one was a lot of fun to make. I tried to keep it simple and not add too much to it, as boys don't generally get all the ribbons and bows and bling! :) This card was cut from the Cricut Baby steps cartridge and peachy keen stamps for the face! :)

I made this card for a co-worker whose little sister passed away. I wanted to keep the mood light and try to make her smile, instead of creating the traditional sympathy card :)

This card is for my best friend bekah. This card was super fun to do. The skunk is just adorable from the Create A Critter Cartridge!! :)

I made this one for my boyfriend's parents for easter. His mom really loved it! :) It was fun to make, too. I got the idea for the whole thing while I was taking a shower last weekend....at like midnight and had to sit and craft it while I was thinking about it! LOL It's crazy how ideas come to ya in the most inconvenient times (Right before bed!!) . lol

Well, this is what I have been up to lately.

I am also putting myself on a "restriction" of spending any more money on craft stuff until I use more of what I already have! (this stuff reproduces while I am at work, I think!) I have stacks and stacks of paper and embellishments that I absolutely have to get rid of, otherwise I will never use it! :) More projects to come!! :)

Hope you guys are having a fantastic Monday!! :)

Birthday Card for my Big Sister :)

I've been MIA lately from the internet. It's been spring break and since I am a school resource officer, I have had the entire week off! :) lucky me!! Lol

I made another mini album, for my best friend, and I will post a quick video on that later.

So, back to the blog post title! My big sister's birthday is in 4 days and I needed to make something to send to her all the way up in Michigan from the Sunshine State! :)

Here is what I came up with...

OKay, so my photo editor for what ever reason will not ROTATE this picture. Sorry it's sideways!! :(

I used my cuttlebug birthday embossing folder for the purple and green piece. I used a flower punch (recollections) and 2 pink pearls, white ribbon and create a critter's lady bug with glossy accents and stickles glitter on eyes, wings and antennas!!

This was a simple and fun card to create!

I am entering it into the weekly challenge over at Mojo Monday !  Thanks for looking and happy scrappin! :)

The Cinch V.2

Just wanted to post an update...just made a purchase of the "cinch" by we r memory keepers....I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail! :)

I could not find the machine anywhere locally, only version 1, which apparently is not as good as the newest model. Anyhow, with a lot of research on the item,  I finally located one online for an unbeatable price.....$59.99! It's on sale right now, so if you have ever thought of getting one but couldn't justify spending $110, now is the time!! You cant even get it off of ebay for less! Consumer Crafts - Cinch V2

If you spend 100, then economy shipping is free. otherwise for standard shipping it is like 11 bucks. I only spent 65, so i had to pay for shipping! :( lol

Anyhow, the reason I wanted to get this machine is so I can make an album for my boyfriend's mom for mother's day. It will include all of her favorite family pictures and leave spaces for her to journal about memories :)

I think it will turn out great...or I hope so anyways!! I practiced making the book covers last night (I forgot to take a picture though :(     )   But, instead of blowing 4 bucks on the "covers" cinch or bind it all offers, I took regular weight 12x12 chipboard and cut it in half. Then I cut the halves into half. So I ended up with 4 6x6 boards. I doubled them up by gluing 2 6x6 boards together then covered them with decorative paper....it turned out super good and sturdy! For almost nothing!! :) I will post pictures when I get home tonight!

In the mean time, I threw this card together last night for a friend's birthday. ......

It was a simple card, as I didn't have a lot of time to do much. But, I used paper from my DCWV stack and create a critter cricut cartridge (I love this cart!)
I used my sewing machine for the stitching around the border :)

Im just gonna say, again....I cannot wait for my Cinch V2 to get here!! :) :)

Seaworld!

Wow! What a fun time, this past weekend!! :)

Went to seaworld and pet a penguin, got to feed a kangaroo (Busch Gardens) and see all the fun shows!!!
Here are a few non crafty photos!

Gonna get back in the grind of crafty stuff this week, so stay tuned!! :)

^^ This is Coby, the friendly penguin!
This guy wanted his picture taken :)
This is Rocky...he didn't want visitors today....he went back to his buddies right after this photo! lol
Me and my love, hangin out right before we saw the penguins!
My new lunch box....lol  I must say, my kids at work thought it was hilarious! (I'm a School Resource Officer) LOL :)
These guys are so soft and very friendly.....if you have food, that is!!! ;)

anyhow, hope ya enjoyed the photos! I will be back to craftiness soon!!! :)

Been Super Busy!!

Wow, the past week and a half have been really busy, haven't had much time for my crafting. :(  I did finally finish all 24 thank you cards...I didn't think I was ever gonna see the end of that!! LOL

I got my peach keen stamps in, finally! I love them, they are adorable! ( I got the "cornies, monsters, and every day paper doll" assorted size sets.

I also got my order in from Cricut Machine (they have good deals on cricut cartridges and accessories!) I paid 60 dollars and got 3 cricut paper pads, deep cut blade and housing, 2 cricut cake mats, tacky tape, cricut spatula, black and brown cricut marker, winnie the pooh font, sesame street seasons and elmo party cartridges! Check them out! (I am in no way affiliated with Cricut Machine.) Im gonna order Winnie The Pooh cartridge today (14.99 + shipping). :)

I'm excited, tomorrow me and my boyfriend will be headed out of town to Orlando. We are taking a much needed weekend getaway! We are going to go to Seaworld and take the "Penguin Up-Close" tour. (I have an infatuation with penguins) So, basically I will be up close and personal with a penguin and will be able to pet it and have my picture taken with it!  I can't wait! although, leaving home at 6 or 630 in the morning will not be a lot of fun. :(

Tomorrow evening we are doing the Medieval Times dinner theater thing. I haven't been to it in like 15 years, so I am pretty excited about that too!

Then, to end out the weekend we will be heading to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. woohoo! I love roller coasters!! :)

SOOOOO, starting monday, I will post a few pictures of the weekend and start back on my crafty schedule!!

I will also have an experimental cake to post pictures of next week, too! ( I am making a test cake for my bestfriend's kid's birthdays in march and want to make sure I can do it, before I commit!) I am goin to attempt a "Robot" 3D cake using fondant....woohoo!! lol

Talk to you guys soon! Have a GREAT weekend!!

I'm Such a Dork! :)

So, I am surfing the wonderful "world wide web" and looking at possibly getting the gypsy.....my main reason being a certain feature that is on it, not the portability factor....lol SOOO, I am looking at the peachy keen stamps, trying to decide if I want to make those purchases, but trying to find a cheap gypsy to go with them....

Why? You ask.....

Well, I will tell you!! :)

In all of the tutorials that I have seen with people using the peachy keen stamps, they have also used the gypsy to "hide contours"....uh huh. Well, I didn't realize that on my design studio (that I already have!!) you can do the same thing! Oh my goodness....I'm such a dork. I have had DS for almost a year now, and barely use it.....NOW, I will be using it OFTEN!

So, long story short, I realized I can purchase the stamp sets and NOT have to worry about coming up with the money for yet another new device!!

I am trying to not purchase anything that takes up ANY more room. My boyfriend and I moved in together and are sharing a room for our entertainment things (his Xbox and my craft stuff!) Needless to say, I have officially taken over 3/4 of the room with all of my stuff. (I think my craft stuff multiplies on its own, sometimes!!)

Man, I cannot wait until we move out of this house into one with just us (we currently share the house with his brother and his brother's girlfriend). Then we will have our own rooms....he will have his "Man Cave" and I will have my "Crafty Room!"

Although, he has been very generous with sharing, so I can't complain....too much!!

Sorry for the rambling!

I will be hard at work this weekend making more cards, it's very therapeutic!!

Thank You Cards

I finally started working on my thank you cards from the funeral services from last weekend...Im super late, however I didn't want to do the traditional store bought cards. My mom always loved handmade things and I think, if she were here, she'd want a handmade thank you card sent out....plus, I just have so much fun creating them!

I have to make approximately 20 cards....so I decided to go with a simple design...one that I can easily recreate several times!!

Recipe:
1 - 5x7" White Folding Card
1 - 4.75x6.75" Black Cardstock
1 - 4.5x6.5" Recollections Patterned Page
1 - 2" wide Recollections "sparkly" white cardstock (comes in the "precious metals" 8.5 x 11" pack)
1 - 6" black ribbon
6 - paper flowers
3 - brads
I embossed the white strip with Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder.

The tag was printed on by my printer and then cut to size and layered. :)

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #72!

Well, this is my first challenge :) I have never done one before, so hopefully I do this right!!

It is from Cooking With Cricut , Challenge #72 : Grown Up Valentine Must have black and brads.

I used black cardstock and embossed it with sizzix dots; then white cardstock and embossed it with cuttlebug swirls. The punches on either end of the white cardstock is a recollections edger punch. The "xoxo" came from Cricut's Tie the Knot Cartridge.  The brads were placed in each corner.....mostly because I couldn't figure out where else to put them!! :)

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy!!

Happy Heart Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day! :)
With all the commotion going around at home (my mom's passing), I haven't really thought about Valentine's Day.....until last night! I totally forgot to make my boyfriend a card! Soooo, I threw something together really quick so that I could give him something this morning! (thankfully he is very low maintenance and understands the reason I haven't thought about it!!) Anyhow, he was grateful for my cheesy thrown together card, nonetheless. :)
the inside simply says "in love w/you!"  Hope you enjoy! I will definitely be posting more cards soon! :)

A few cards I have made...

First Blog Ever!

Well, here it is...Monday February 13th and this is my very first online blog! I will be adding photos of some cards that I have made in the past. (Yes, some of them are from when I first started, so bear with me!!) As I have continued to work on handmade cards and whatnot, I feel that my experience and expertise has gotten soooo much better! :)

I will also add photos of my Pit Bull! They are not all mean!! She is a 70lb lap dog....or she thinks she is, anyways!! She is totally a people loving dog and adores children. Cats...not so much!! :)

I will be back later to upload some photos!!!! See ya then!
