"Happy Birthday" Banner!

Hello again! Im on a roll this week!! 2 blog posts down! woo hoo!
lol

Last night I did a last minute project for a colleague at work. She had her 40th birthday 2 days ago (which i MISSED! gosh, I'm such a horrible friend!!)

Anyhow, I was up until 1am trying to put this together. I wanted to do something other than my traditional card. So this is what I came up with!! Let me know what you think!? Also, her favorite colors are pink and brown. So I used those colors as my starting point!
I hung it in her office, so she would see it when she got in :)

The owl is cut at 5 inches from the Create a Critter Cartridge (my all time favorite!)

The flower shapes are from accent essentials at 4 1/2 inches and 4 inches for the smaller layer.

The letters are from the Cricut Cartridge Robots. (I can't remember what the size was!)

I used brown sheer ribbon to piece all the pieces together (I punched the holes with my crop a dile)

The rose is from the cricut flower shoppe cartridge (Another new favorite!). The butterfly is a recollections butterfly from Michaels :)

This is the first banner I have ever done and it was SOOOOOO much fun to see it come together! this is the first project that came out exactly how I pictured it in my head! lol I feel accomplished! :)

Happy Mother's Day!!

Wow, what a month, so far. I have been so busy it's been crazy. Before I started the blog, I had entirely too much time on my hands....now that I have a blog that I desperately want to keep up with, I can't seem to find the time! How the heck did that happen?!

Anyhow, to all the beautiful ladies out there; HAPPY MOTHER's Day!!

Today is bittersweet for me, because this is the first Mother's Day that I am without my wonderful mother. I'm trying to keep a smile on my face, nonetheless though!

Well, here are 2 mother's day projects that I have been working on this past week

I completed a mini album and Mother's Day card to give to my boyfriend's mom. Her favorite color is yellow, so I was sure to put a lot of yellow in there! LOL

She loves all things handmade and I figured this would be perfect.

You can view a video of the mini album below! :)

It's A Girl! :)

My big sister, who lives in Michigan, found out last week that she is having a little girl to add to her growing family! I'm super excited! I made a card to mail to her, since I am unable to physically be there! :(

I used multiple cartridges for this card; Baby Steps, Wrap it Up, Plantin School Book
Peachy Keen Stamps, Stickles, Rinestones, Twine, and Eyelets!

This card was a lot of fun to make, mostly because making girly cards are so easy! The possiblilities are endless! The baby boy card that I did last week was mentally taxing, because anything I wanted to do to it would make it too sparkly or girly looking! I definitely have A LOT more fun with girlie cards!!

Im planning on making a "baby's first year" album as soon as she decides on a name :) The baby is due in August, so I think I have plenty of time!!
Hope you all have a fantastic rest of the weekend!!!

A Few New Creations :)

I have been MIA for a little while, only because I have been super busy! I recently started taking Krav Maga and kickboxing classes during the week....so much fun!! :)

I have gotten a few little cards done, for birthdays and whatnot. I also got a super cute picture of my puppy (okay, so she's not a puppy anymore, but I like to tell myself that she is!) lol she is 4 and a half! :)
I love my "Reilly Bug" more than anything...she doesn't even know she is a dog :) lol

On to the cards! :)
I made this card for my friend's birthday. She loves butterflies :) It is from the rock princess cricut cartridge :)

I made this card for someone to give at a baby shower for a little boy :) This one was a lot of fun to make. I tried to keep it simple and not add too much to it, as boys don't generally get all the ribbons and bows and bling! :) This card was cut from the Cricut Baby steps cartridge and peachy keen stamps for the face! :)

I made this card for a co-worker whose little sister passed away. I wanted to keep the mood light and try to make her smile, instead of creating the traditional sympathy card :)

This card is for my best friend bekah. This card was super fun to do. The skunk is just adorable from the Create A Critter Cartridge!! :)

I made this one for my boyfriend's parents for easter. His mom really loved it! :) It was fun to make, too. I got the idea for the whole thing while I was taking a shower last weekend....at like midnight and had to sit and craft it while I was thinking about it! LOL It's crazy how ideas come to ya in the most inconvenient times (Right before bed!!) . lol

Well, this is what I have been up to lately.

I am also putting myself on a "restriction" of spending any more money on craft stuff until I use more of what I already have! (this stuff reproduces while I am at work, I think!) I have stacks and stacks of paper and embellishments that I absolutely have to get rid of, otherwise I will never use it! :) More projects to come!! :)

Hope you guys are having a fantastic Monday!! :)

Birthday Card for my Big Sister :)

I've been MIA lately from the internet. It's been spring break and since I am a school resource officer, I have had the entire week off! :) lucky me!! Lol

I made another mini album, for my best friend, and I will post a quick video on that later.

So, back to the blog post title! My big sister's birthday is in 4 days and I needed to make something to send to her all the way up in Michigan from the Sunshine State! :)

Here is what I came up with...

OKay, so my photo editor for what ever reason will not ROTATE this picture. Sorry it's sideways!! :(

I used my cuttlebug birthday embossing folder for the purple and green piece. I used a flower punch (recollections) and 2 pink pearls, white ribbon and create a critter's lady bug with glossy accents and stickles glitter on eyes, wings and antennas!!

This was a simple and fun card to create!

I am entering it into the weekly challenge over at Mojo Monday !  Thanks for looking and happy scrappin! :)

The Cinch V.2

Just wanted to post an update...just made a purchase of the "cinch" by we r memory keepers....I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail! :)

I could not find the machine anywhere locally, only version 1, which apparently is not as good as the newest model. Anyhow, with a lot of research on the item,  I finally located one online for an unbeatable price.....$59.99! It's on sale right now, so if you have ever thought of getting one but couldn't justify spending $110, now is the time!! You cant even get it off of ebay for less! Consumer Crafts - Cinch V2

If you spend 100, then economy shipping is free. otherwise for standard shipping it is like 11 bucks. I only spent 65, so i had to pay for shipping! :( lol

Anyhow, the reason I wanted to get this machine is so I can make an album for my boyfriend's mom for mother's day. It will include all of her favorite family pictures and leave spaces for her to journal about memories :)

I think it will turn out great...or I hope so anyways!! I practiced making the book covers last night (I forgot to take a picture though :(     )   But, instead of blowing 4 bucks on the "covers" cinch or bind it all offers, I took regular weight 12x12 chipboard and cut it in half. Then I cut the halves into half. So I ended up with 4 6x6 boards. I doubled them up by gluing 2 6x6 boards together then covered them with decorative paper....it turned out super good and sturdy! For almost nothing!! :) I will post pictures when I get home tonight!

In the mean time, I threw this card together last night for a friend's birthday. ......

It was a simple card, as I didn't have a lot of time to do much. But, I used paper from my DCWV stack and create a critter cricut cartridge (I love this cart!)
I used my sewing machine for the stitching around the border :)

Im just gonna say, again....I cannot wait for my Cinch V2 to get here!! :) :)
